Green Fresh Market

Grand Vantage is a widely adapted and dependable fresh market variety with very good uniformity and a fresh blue-green color. Wrapper leaves are tight and attractive. Heads are perfectly round and about 7” across, weighing 4 to 6 pounds. It holds well in the field and performs well throughout the eastern half of the US.

Green Prime is a high-quality, very uniform, widely adapted Asian-style Flat Cabbage with Black Rot and Clubroot Resistance. Approximated 4.5 lb heads. It has a large silver-green plant and a well-wrapped medium green head. As is typical of this type, leaves are even thickness and not “ribby” and it has a sweet flavor. It should be harvested before it is completed dense inside.

Multima is a semi-flat to flat cabbage with an outside diameter that varies by spacing. It can be harvested loose for salad or whole head of fermented cabbage. Leaves are medium-thin, crisp, mild, and sweet. If left to grow, it will become denser for slaw or stuffed cabbage.  It has a large frame with waxy blue-green wrapper leaves. This variety performs well under all climate conditions, including hot and humid, where it has shown the ability to hold up to black rot.

Ramada is well wrapped, dark, classy and uniform.  The dense heads stand upright on strong stems. It is widely adapted and used for fresh market boxing and will store short term.  Does very well in heat, including the Southeast.

Smaller and denser than Gunma. Attractive, smooth medium-green head. Quite clean and not prone to rot. Weighs 3.5 to 4.5 lb and is 8” to 10” across. Very good flavor, tender texture with even-thickness leaves. Suitable for early summer and short storage crops.

Tiara looks and tastes like a small iceberg lettuce. We have used it just like lettuce in salads and even sandwiches. The small heads are very uniform and have an appetizing fresh green color.
