Broccoli Seeds

Expo is great for the cold weather slot. In Central PA we harvest Expo around Thanksgiving. It has improved uniformity both in shape and maturity and a very dense head. Expo is an excellent variety for late season crown cut.

Fortress is a new variety noted for its plant health and vigor. Head is held high in the plant and has resistance to Alternaria.

With excellent uniformity and fancy dense heads, Green Gold is used for “Asian Crown” cut (meaning very short petioles with a rounded head). Heat tolerance is not quite as good as Emerald Crown, which it otherwise resembles. Use in early spring and main-season fall harvest.

This widely adapted, bright green variety features good field holding for spring or fall crops. It is the best choice for growers that use side shoots.

Heirloom Italian type broccoli often used for microgreens. Grown full-sized, it makes will make a head with large beads and then many side shoots if kept harvested. Best for fall or cool weather crops.

Uniform and productive. Beautiful, smooth domed heads will hold well in the field.

Imperial need warm days for best quality. Widely adapted, it can be used in winter in the South. Imperial should be used for crown-cut only where it would make sturdy, large, heavy heads. Imperial is earlier maturing in spring, later in fall.

Imperial produces fancy quality in warm weather. In fact, it needs warm weather to make good, dense heads. Good for spring, summer and early fall crops (and in winter in the South). If you think your conditions are too warm to grow broccoli, give Imperial a try. Best for crown cut.  Imperial maturity may be affected by heat/day-length.
