Riviera is an improved strain of Italian oxheart that bears huge meaty fluted fruit that is good for stuffing or sauces. The flavor is mild when raw, but makes a flavorful sauce. It is very productive in tunnels, offering the chance to market an heirloom that yields with the best varieties. 6-8 oz. fruit holds its size all season. This type remains popular in Italy, where many traditional types never fell out of favor, perhaps because it is so easy to grow!
