SEEDWAY History

SEEDWAY was founded in 1963 in the hamlet of Hall, New York, in the heart of the Finger Lakes region. SEEDWAY is a full-line seed company, one of the few in the industry supplying a complete product line of farm, turf and vegetable seed.  SEEDWAY markets farm and turf seed in 14 Northeast and Mid-Atlantic states and vegetable seed from the US Rocky Mountains to the east coast and in the southern provinces of Canada.  Headquartered in Hall, SEEDWAY maintains locations in Trumansburg and Mecklenburg, NY, Shoreham, VT, Mifflinburg, Emmaus and Elizabethtown in PA and Lakeland, FL. Since its inception, SEEDWAY has grown steadily, expanding its markets and customer base. Acquisitions and mergers have played a major role in the company’s growth. Some notable acquisitions include; Seem Seed Farms in 1974, Todd Seed Company in 1982, Scarlett Seed Company in 1983, Carlton Seed in 1990, Burpee commercial vegetable seed business in 1996, Robson Seed Farms in 1997, S & M Vegetable seed in 1997, AgriCulver Seeds in 2003, Agrisales in 2004, Mixon Seed Company vegetable seed business and Chesmore Seed vegetable seed business in 2007 and Olds Garden Seed in 2011.
